One Europe customer sent one email to ask why the 4140 steel hardness from the same shipment will be different.
When I checked with customer about the order number and sizes.Then I know all details. Actually, we delivered for the same order with same steel grade. But why the 4140 hardness were different ? It’s because material for the same shipment are with different heat number. That means those are same 4140 steel materials with different property and hardness. Because if the customer requires the same range hardness for those 4140 material, then we need to do the heat treatment on those normal status material. However, customer told they do not need to do extra heat treatment. They just require that the hardness should be almost at the same, more or less. And I replied to our customers that we will try to control the 4140 hardness of the material and make it similar to each other.
